At Slate, we're building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

Salary: $20 to $25 per hour

Who we are looking for:

SLATE is seeking a dynamic and motivated Social Media Intern to join our Marketing Team for the Fall 2025 Semester (September–December). This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.

We're looking for individuals who are creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic about storytelling through social media. Ideal candidates will bring fresh ideas, a passion for content creation, and a willingness to learn about the full production process — from concept to execution.

What you get to do:

As a Social Media Intern at SLATE, you'll have the opportunity to take an active role in bringing creative ideas to life while building valuable, real-world marketing and production skills. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Head of Social Media to brainstorm and execute engaging campaign concepts from initial idea to final post
  • Designing and editing visual content, including short-form videos and graphics, for use across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Assisting with event planning, prop coordination, and content research to support on-brand media productions
  • Scouting and sourcing unique locations for social media shoots and brand storytelling
  • Gaining hands-on experience with creative tools such as Canva, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Sprout Social, and more

What you bring to the team:

We're looking for a self-motivated and creative individual who's eager to develop their skills in a real-world startup setting. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 and a strong academic foundation
  • The ability to travel for short-term, out-of-state assignments as part of our SLATE Roadshow
  • Availability to work part-time or full-time during the academic semester
  • Willingness and ability to commute to our Troy MI office at least 3 days per week
  • A creative mindset and enthusiasm for developing and supporting impactful social media content
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially for coordinating events and managing production details

Why Join Team Slate?

We're fueled by grit, determination, and attention to detail. Slate's start-up spirit of ingenuity and resourcefulness moves our business forward. Team Slate fosters a culture of excellence, innovation, and mutual respect, and is motivated by shared principles.

  • Safety First
