Your role

As the Intake Specialist Supervisor for Baxter's Respiratory Health division you will oversea the Intake Specialists. You willbe a resource for problem-solving individual patient file issues identified by your team. Your team manages areas like verification of benefits, Intake patient calls, Hunt Line, Task Management and much more.

Your Team

You will have a team of 6-10 direct reports in this role.

What you'll be doing

• Directly supervise assigned staff, including on-going performance feedback
• Provide coaching and mentoring to guide team and team members to success and provide work direction and content expertise to the team
• Assist staff in career development and training
• Provide training and mentorship to new team members
• Coordination of training for all new team members
• Monitor workloads, including daily performance metrics, overdue activities and pending tasks
• Identify and resolve issues on complex patient files including Unable to Contact (UTC), uncooperative patients, and complex payer Verification of Benefits
• Collaborate with management team to ensure consistency in communications and procedures across Intake Specialist team
• Identify and develop new processes and streamline existing workflows
• Coordinate team workflow and ensure quality objectives and work deadlines are being met
• Act as a liaison to other departments related to payer or patient-specific issues
• Perform other duties and projects, as assigned

What you'll bring

• Associates degree required
• BA/BS degree preferred, or equivalent related work experience
• 1+ years’ experience working with insurance payers (Verification of Benefits, authorization, etc.)
• 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience required including; previous experience with training, coaching, mentoring, and process improvement
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Third Party Compliance preferred
• Experience with Durable Medical Equipment provider preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
• Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal communications and presentation skills
• Detail orientation
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage workload
• Experience with TIMS preferred

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career.  At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.  To that end, this position has a base salary range of $64,000 to $88,000. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position.  The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
