SAKA Museum is a cultural gem located within AYANA Resort in Jimbaran, Bali. Opening to the public in early 2024, SAKA will take visitors to embark on a captivating exploration of the Balinese Day of Silence, Nyepi, and a myriad of art and cultural expressions deeply intertwined with the Balinese principle of Tri Hita Karana. As Education and Outreach Officer ensures that SAKA’s educational messages reach diverse national and international audiences—including children, students, adults, and institutional partners—with the ultimate goal of making the museum an accessible space for cultural discovery, dialogue, and enrichment. You will be involved in :

1. Educational Content and Program Development:

  • Oversee the creation of educational publications, ensuring content accuracy and alignment with the museum's educational objectives.
  • Work closely with curators, educators, and guest experience teams to develop and deliver educational write-ups that align with the museum's objectives and resonate with diverse audiences. This includes extended captions, artists's stories, wall texts, visitor booklets, and audio script.
  • Create culturally relevant programs that support SAKA’s vision of disseminating Balinese culture on local, national and international level, with a strong focus on impactful audience engagement.
  • Develop educational content for the museum's website and social media platforms, working closely with the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) Specialist to ensure accessibility and relevance for all target audiences.

2. Programs and Community Outreach:

  • Reach out to schools, artist communities and institutions to provide education related to museum programs.

  • Collaborate with communities to develop and create museum programs and educational materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Museology, Literature, Communication, Social Studies or any related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in educational programming and content development, preferably in cultural centers, museums, schools  or other educational institutions.
  • Active involvement in community outreach activities, participation in cultural festivals and collaboration with cultural institutions.
  • Experience in developing educational content for an international audience.
  • Profound affinity with art and culture.
  • Ability to connect with an international, all-inclusive audience of all ages.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey ideas, expectations, and feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Indonesian.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
