JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Data Analyst with specialized expertise in Oil & Gas Operations and Engineering to join the Big Data and Advanced Analytics department. The Operations Data Analyst will work closely with Operators and Engineers to capture data and analytic requirements and implement data management solutions. The ideal candidate will combine deep industry knowledge with data analysis experience to ensure data quality and accessibility that drive business insights and decision-making.

Top daily responsibilities:

• Create and maintain data documentation and metadata
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys with business users to identify, collect, and map data elements
• Integrate data between systems

Must Have

• Data management including data profiling to understand data characteristics and relationships
• Oil & Gas industry knowledge specifically in operations and engineering
• SQL

Nice To Have

• Creating reports and dashboards
• Documenting functional and non-functional requirements
• Python

Other responsibilities include:

• Analyse existing operational and engineering workflows including production and maintenance processes and troubleshooting activities such as root-cause analysis
• Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in decision making due to missing and/or inaccurate data
• Define data requirements and reporting specifications for operational intelligence platforms
• Analyse integration requirements between operational systems
• Define and implement data quality rules, automated validation procedures, and cross-reference management solutions
• Create and maintain data dictionaries and business glossaries for the Operations and Engineering domain
• Define and implement data visualizations that delivers seamless access to relevant information

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience using SQL and Python for data processing and analysis
• 2+ Experience working with Oil & Gas industrial data including Historian time-series, Engineering Drawings, and Equipment Specification sheets
• Experience in data management practices such as data lifecycle management in complex operational environments
• Experience analysing operational processes including identifying and creating KPIs and other metrics which measure operational performance
• Experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience analysing operational processes including identifying and creating KPIs and other metrics which measure operational performance

Interview process: first round as short Teams video and second as onsite with small panel

Notes: new project, must work onsite, possibility to extend
