Job Description

What you will be doing: Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)

• Render professional, collaborative care to adult patients under the direction of a member of the medical staff
• Follow the healthcare practitioner’s treatment plan, standards of care, and professional code of ethics
• Promote the health potential of the whole person and assure optimal care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Demonstrate ability to delegate appropriately and direct staff in coordination and delivery of care
• Assume accountability for the appropriate utilization of resources
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with others in communication and problem solving
• Be sensitive to the needs of patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
• Assume personal accountability for organizational mission, core, and shared values
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Assure safe, high-quality patient care
• Proactively identify complications and communicate findings
• Work in an outpatient clinic and perform inpatient rounding and consults
• Supervise stress testing (echo, exercise, nuclear, and dobutamine) and tilt table testing
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Experience you will need: Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)

• Must have two years of experience working as NP or PA in Cardiology.
• Master's degree in nursing; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of PA program
• Unrestricted APN or PA License in Colorado (DORA)
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), with cards in-hand before start date
• General health care and cardiovascular patient assessment and exam skills
• Ability to function independently
